Medfield Scrip Program

Purchasing Scrip
A selection of commonly purchased Scrip cards are available for immediate purchase at Lord's Department Store, located at 446 Main Street, Medfield, Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM. Placing a Scrip Order

Orders for Scrip are processed weekly. While Lord's and other Box Representatives have popular certificates on-hand, Scrip offers a huge variety of certificates which can be ordered. Avoid the risk of a box not having what you need and place an order! Both local and national certificates are available. Drop orders in the Scrip Drop Box at Lord's front counter during regular store hours. Orders received by 3:00 PM on Fridays will be ready for pickup the following Friday.

Establish a Scrip Recurring Order
There's an easy way to get in the habit of buying Scrip on a regular basis. You can set up recurring orders for your regularly used gift cards (ie: groceries).

Highlights

  • Choose to have your order to come in weekly, every two weeks or monthly.
  • Designate which school (s) will receive the profits.
  • Make changes to your order at any time.

Two Convenient Options

  • Use your bank's online payment service. Set it up once and everything is done automatically . See order form in Recurring Order Section below.
  • Don't feel comfortable with online banking? No problem. You may arrange to pay by check with your school's box representative. See box representative information to the left.

Join other Medfield parents who have discovered the easiest way to get into the Scrip habit! And just think about how much the schools would benefit if more people bought Scrip on a regular basis!

Commonly asked questions about the Scrip program

What is Scrip?
The Scrip program purchases discounted gift certificates and gift cards from hundreds of participating merchants. We then sell this Scrip to families like yours for the face value to be redeemed for the full face value. The difference between what you pay and the discounted price from the merchant goes to the schools. It does not require any additional cost to you.

What Do the Schools Use the Money For?
The schools use the profits from SCRIP to supplement their ever-decreasing school budgets. This year funds are being raised for various needs including:

  • New "Circle-Time" Rugs for all Memorial classrooms
  • Equipment for the Wheelock Playground
  • New technology at Dale Street
  • New electric pottery kiln for the art department at Blake
  • Help fund High School Booster Activities

When can I use Scrip?
Scrip can be used for everyday purchases not just simply for gifts. Scrip certificates may be redeemed at the register, for on-line purchases and towards balances of a few store credit cards. The Scrip Order Form displays all of our locally participating stores and the most popular national chains. Download a Scrip Order Form here. Interested in browsing a list of all national merchants we have available? For a complete list, along with usage guidelines, check out all our Participating National Retailers. Since the passing of a recent gift card law in Massachusetts, gift cards and certificates are now valid for at least seven years from the date of issue; most do not expire.

What Kind of Gift Certificates Can I Buy?
You can use Scrip to buy your regular groceries at Roche Bros., Shaw's or Stop n Shop. You can use Scrip in local restaurants (Basil's, Blue Moon, Casabella's, Friendly's, MaryAnne's, & Zebras) or at a wide variety of national chains (like Applebees, Cheesecake Factory, Chilis, T.G.I. Fridays, Outback etc.). Many retail stores (i.e. Lords, Crate & Barrel, Macy's, GAP, Home Depot, CVS etc.,) book stores (Walpole Center Books, Barnes & Noble, and Borders), and gas station gift cards are available as well. As mentioned before, there are well over 100 participating merchants, and with every purchase the merchant donates a percentage, anywhere from 1.5% to 21%, to our schools. Download an order form and get started today. You may also want to review a full list of restaurants participating in the Phantom Gourmet Gift Card. How Do I Buy Scrip?
Your completed order form, along with payment to "MSSP", may be dropped off at Lords, as described above, or mailed to us at: Medfield Schools Scrip Program Attn: Scrip Purchaser 689 Main St. #356 Walpole, MA 02081. Orders are processed each week during the school calendar year and monthly during the summer break. Orders received by Friday at 3:00 PM will be ready for you to pick up at Lord's (Mon. through Friday, 9 AM to 8 PM) after 9:30 AM the following Friday.

You also have the option of having your Scrip mailed to you, or even delivered to your door! Neighborhood Captains are volunteers willing to coordinate a pick-up or delivery of your Scrip. Are Gift Certificates Available?

Can I donate Scrip to a local charity?
You can use the Scrip Donation Form to give a SCRIP gift card to any of five Medfield charities including the Medfield Food Cupboard, Friends of Seniors, Inc. (FOSI), The Home Committee, The Medfield Animal Shelter and Youth Outreach. The schools still get their portion of the SCRIP proceeds, and we'll coordinate getting your gift to the charity you select. What could be easier???
